Beach Information

Dogs on Wells Beach
Dogs are allowed on the beach at Wells all year round subject to certain restrictions. An area of the beach is kept dog free so that people can dig in the sand without fear of finding something unpleasant. At nesting time areas of the beach are roped off to protect nesting birds and people are asked to keep dogs on leads for the same reason. Holkham beach has the same seasonal restrictions. Dog owners are asked to keep dogs on leads until they get on to the beach, and to clear up any mess.

Barbecues on Wells Beach
The beach at Wells-Next-The-Sea is part of the Holkham Estate. According to the information provided on their website, no barbecues are allowed on either Holkham or Wells beach. This reduces the risk of fire caused by lighting fires, stoves or portable barbecues.
